About WomensPages.ca

Officially launched on November 25, 2005, WomensPages.ca is an online business directory exclusively for women started by the Progressive Group for Independent Business Women (www.pgibw.ca).  It is easy to use.  WomensPages.ca is organized by area code and then by industry type, so if you want to find a Spa in your area, you will.  Your search will not give you a list of Spas across the country.   

WomensPages.ca was started for 3 reasons:

1.  Traditional forms of advertising are expensive.  Not everyone in business has $1500 for a 1/2 business card size ad for the local phone book. 

2.  Because there are many women's groups across Canada with small directories.  Why not have 1 powerful place to search for a graphic designer or bookkeeper?

3.  We want to help support women in business.  Not everyone can make it out to networking events and such, but still want to get the word out about what they do.  

WomensPages.ca is not a non-profit organization.  Our rates may make us look that way, but this is our business.  We want you to renew, so of course we're going to be working hard driving people to the site.  We understand the age old rule that it's easier to keep a customer than get a new one.  At the end of the year, we want it to be a no-brainer in regards to your renewal.  We want you to take a sheet of paper, draw a line down the middle, mark on one side the cost of the listing and on the other all the business you got from it.  We want to be able to make that decision easy for you!
